An Iowa State University professor has been given a top sustainability achievement award in the state.
Practical Farmers of Iowa says Matt Liebman is the recipient of its 2013 Sustainable Agriculture Achievement Award. He will be presented the prize in January.
The annual award recognizes individuals who have excelled in demonstrating sustainable agriculture and sharing it with others.
Liebman's research focuses on diversified crop rotations and using native perennial species for biofuels production.
