The federal emergency management agency.
was in Wisconsin yesterday assessing the damage from
last months flooding in southern and western parts
of the state.
They are teaming up with wisconsin emergency management
and the D-O-T to get preliminary damage estimates...
The groups will be touring the state inspecting roads
and bridges to determine the cost of damage...
THIS IS OUR FIRST OPPORTUNITY FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
TO SEE SOME OF THE DAMAGE.
TO REALLY AGREE ON SOME OF THE NUMBERS AS FAR AS WHAT
DAMAGES WERE SUSTAINED FROM THE SEPTEMBER FLOODING.
It's important to note that the assessment does not
include damage to individual or business properties.
The information gathered will help governor walker
decide of he will request federal disaster assistance.
We will have more on FEMA's visit to Vernon County
tomorrow on News eight.
