TIFFIN, Iowa (AP) -

A 19-year-old man has been charged with vehicular homicide for the death of a 14-year-old girl who was in his car when it collided with a van near Tiffin.

Authorities say Zachary Swenka, of North Liberty, was arrested on Thursday.

Swenka's accused of driving more than 100 mph on U.S. Highway 6 on Oct. 17 last year before losing control of his vehicle and colliding with the van. The Iowa State Patrol says Mackenzie Lown, of Amana, was killed. The patrol says two people in the van and five other teens in Swenka's car were injured, including Swenka.

A Johnson County jailer says Swenka has left custody. A public phone listing for him could not be found. His attorney didn't immediately return a call Friday from The Associated Press
