MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A number of Democrats are either considering running against Gov. Scott Walker in a recall election or are being mentioned as potential candidates.
No Democrat has gone so far as to say they will definitely run. Recall organizers say they will start gathering signatures on Nov. 15, which means the recall election would likely be sometime in the spring if they are successful.
State Sen. Jon Erpenbach of Waunakee says he is taking a serious look at running against Walker, but he has no timeline in mind for making a decision.
A spokeswoman for former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk says she is open to running.
Other Democrats being mentioned include Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, U.S. Rep. Ron Kind and Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca of Kenosha.
