Decorah eagle returns to northeastern Iowa
DECORAH, Iowa (AP) -- The eagle that gained international attention as people around the world watched her on the internet eagle-cam has returned to Decorah.
KCRG-TV reports that satellite data has confirmed the eagle, known as D1, roosted Wednesday night in a tree on the east of Decorah.
Bob Anderson, the raptor expert who fitted her with a satellite transmitter this summer, says he's surprised the eagle has returned to Decorah.
D1 gained fame on a nest-cam set up by Anderson's group, the Raptor Resource Project, which has been visited more than 213 million times this year.
