Officials are apologizing to a suburban Des Moines man who was arrested after errant information showed he was driving on a revoked license.
Quan Tong, of Urbandale, is an ordained Catholic deacon who was delivering food to a homebound man on Monday when an officer asked to see Tong's license.
A computer report showed the license had been revoked, so the officer arrested Tong.
Tong spent six hours in jail before his wife could have him freed on a $1,000 bond.
Officials later learned that someone else's record mistakenly had been entered into Tong's.
The Des Moines Register says officials intend to get Tong's bond money refunded as well as impound fees for his car. They also intend to remove the case from the Iowa Courts Online database.
