La Crosse's City Council approves funding for additional
research into possible lead contamination in the La
Crosse River marsh.
The council unanimously passed a resolution to spend
30-thousand dollars from the city's reserve account
to look further into the effects of old bullet casings
left behind decades ago by the La Crosse Gun Club.
The city previously spent 25-thousand dollars to hire
a consultant to look into the possible contamination
but the D-N-R says more work needs to be done.
