Construction worker killed on I-94

MENOMONIE, Wis. -

A construction worker has died after possibly being electrocuted in Dunn County Monday morning.

Joseph Janisch, 34 from Ellsworth, was found lying on the ground, unresponsive near mile marker 39 on Interstate 94 about 7:20 a.m., two miles west of Menomonie.

Janisch was working on replacing guard rails when a piece of construction equipment struck an overhead power line, possibly electrocuting the man. He worked for Highway Technologies.

Janisch was transported to Mayo Hospital Menomonie where we was pronounced dead.

OSHA will be investigating the incident.
