City of La Crosse receives grant to replace ash trees
The La Crosse Community Foundation has given the City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department a $4,280 grant to replace ash trees cut down on Barron Island.
The city cut down hundreds of ash trees this winter due to the threat of emerald ash borer.
Last month, the Wisconsin Conservation Corps (WisCorps) received a $25,000 grant through the Wisconsin DNR Urban Forestry Program to replace ash trees taken down in the City of La Crosse.
