LA CROSSE, Wis. -- -

It was a birthday celebration for a place that's served the families of our area for years.

The Children's Museum held a celebration of it's 14th birthday on Saturday.

But different from many birthday parties, there was no cake, instead there was a healthy eating demonstration for the kids.

They could also get their face painted and play at the Curious George traveling exhibit.

Staff say it's a celebration of how much families in the area have supported the museum.

"We've grown a lot. We've been blessed by the community. Everyone's been so supportive and we have been able to do lots of different things. Curious George is one of our traveling exhibits. We've been really fortunate to have many different exhibits traveling in and out of the museum, offering all different kinds of things for families," said Christina Knudsen, project director at the Children's Museum of La Crosse.

The Curious George traveling exhibit will be at the museum until May 11.
