CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- A Cedar Rapids official says a fire at the city's wastewater treatment plant has not disrupted the plant's ability to take in solid waste from homeowners, businesses or industries.
City utilities environmental manager Steve Hershner tells The Gazette in Cedar Rapids that residents can keep flushing and using city water as they normally would.
The Friday morning fire damaged a building that houses an incinerator at the plant. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
