Cameras watch ospreys in NC, eagles in Iowa
Aluminum giant Alcoa Inc. is offering an unvarnished look at birds of prey that have built homes along waterways the company controls in North Carolina and Iowa.
Alcoa has trained a camera on a nesting pair of osprey who make their home above one of the company's North Carolina hydroelectric dams at Badin Lake. They're sitting on eggs and fiddling with the nest now on a live video stream that can be viewed over the Internet. They had three baby chicks last year.
Alcoa cameras are also keeping a live look on a bald eagle nest with two chicks in Davenport, Iowa. This is the fourth year an eagle pair has been raising babies there.
