DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Gov. Terry Branstad says a parade this summer in Des Moines will honor veterans of all of the nation's wars.

Branstad wore his old Army uniform while announcing the parade Monday.

The parade will be June 30, starting at the Statehouse and moving through downtown Des Moines.

Branstad says veterans of the Vietnam War will be a special focus of the parade due to the lack of a homecoming many veterans received due to the divisive nature of that conflict.

The governor was in the Army during that war but didn't serve in Vietnam.

Branstad says the parade will be financed by private donors.
