A speaker is inspiring local students by showing his
own struggles following a traumatic experience.
Jeff Bauman Bow-man spoke at Onalaska High School
as part of the Y-M-C-A's Community Inspiration Event.
Bauman Bow-man survived the Boston Marathon Bombing
in April 2013.
but the explosion required his legs to be amputated.
The Y's event brings a nationally recognized speaker
in to schools to share their experiences and how they
overcame their struggles.
Students can relate to this because a lot of them
are facing struggles of their own, and just seeing
somebody who's gone through something so challenging,
so dificult, you know losing his legs and having those
amputated, to truly inspire them.
The Community Inspiration Event has been bringing
national speakers to local schools for nearly a decade.
