Bond set for La Crosse teen involved in van crash

LA CROSSE, Wis. -

A La Crosse County judge set a $500 cash bond for a teenager days after being in a van that crashed into a north side business while trying to escape a police chase.

According to the criminal complaint, Clifton Traywick, 17, was driving a stolen van Friday night that crashed into the Sir Speedy Printing building at the corner of Monitor and Rose Streets.

Traywick told police he was with his friend Nate smoking marijuana on the southside before leading police on a chase.

No one was hurt in the crash, but the building lost a chunk of the wall.

Traywick is facing felony charges for running from officers and party to the crime of taking a vehicle without consent.

Police are still searching for the other passenger.
