WINONA, Minn. -- The body of a Winona boater missing for several weeks is finally found.
Authorities pulled Ralph Andring's body from the Mississippi River about 5 p.m. Friday. Winona Sheriff Dave Brand says he was found up against the rocks near Lock and Dam 6.
The 57-year-old was riding in a boat with a friend when he stood up and fell into the river near the Highway 43 bridge.
The friend tossed Andring a boat cushion but Andring instead tried to swim to the shore. Authorities say he went under and never resurfaced. Andring was not wearing a life jacket.
Winona County authorities have searched for Andring every day since he went missing.
Brand tells News 8 that an autopsy will be done to determine an exact cause of death.
