Bill Clinton to campaign for Barrett in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Former President Bill Clinton is coming to Wisconsin to campaign for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett ahead of next week's recall election.
The Barrett campaign says Clinton will be in Milwaukee sometime Friday morning. Further details are still being worked out.
Clinton would be the third prominent Democrat in three days to appear in Wisconsin on Barrett's behalf.
Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley chairs the Democratic Governors Association. He'll be in Madison Thursday afternoon.
And on Wednesday, the head of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, rallied about 100 Democratic volunteers in Racine.
A poll released Wednesday by Marquette University Law School shows Gov. Scott Walker with a 7-point lead over Barrett, 52 percent to 45 percent. The poll's margin of error was 4.1 percentage points.
The election is Tuesday.
