Another gold coin has shown up in donations to the Salvation Army in Johnson County.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports that the South African Krugerrand was put in one of the red kettles before Thanksgiving and was found by a teller at Hills Bank & Trust. The bank counts the donations for the Salvation Army.
The gold coin was valued at $175.
Salvation Army spokeswoman Lia Pontarelli says a mystery donor has dropped a valuable coin in one of the Johnson County red kettles in each of the past five years.
