Test finds drinking water safe near buried horses
Officials in Pleasant Prairie say tests have found the drinking water is safe on a farm where buried horses were found.
The village says an independent lab analyzed samples collected from two wells on the property and found the water safe for drinking.
Water in a nearby stream was tested by the Department of Natural Resources and also found to be safe.
Kenosha County sheriff's investigators say nearly 70 animal carcasses were found buried on a couple's property in Pleasant Prairie. David and Paula White face a number of animal neglect charges after five dead horses were found in stalls at their farm last month. Nearly two dozen horses, some malnourished, were seized.
Deputy Chief David Morgensen tells WISN-TV they found decomposing horses buried under carcasses on the ground.
