flooding is leaving several areas in the city of Sparta
News 8's Eric Jacobson joins us live from Fisherman's
Park in Sparta with the latest from there.
This park helps protect the La Crosse River from Perch
Lake located behind me.
As you can see and hear.
there's a lot of water flowing down stream.
It's just one a several spots that has seen plenty
of flooding in the area.
We were kind of praying it would quit because we can't

We've got to sleep through the pounding on the roof
for a couple of days now.
But as he looks at the river he's known all his life..
NAT: Water rushing
That water has turned Evans-Bosshard Park in Sparta.
into a pond.
It's a little ballfield of somekind?
The Monroe County Sheriff's office says they have
received significant rainfall over the last two days.
Right now we're hearing 4 to 6, maybe a little bit
more than that.
That rainful is seen in places like Leon.
just south of Sparta.
where creeks are sneaking up on area businesses.
One local said it's about as bad as it has ever been.
In a scene familiar around the area.
crossing under the interstate.
is submerged under water.
The Sheriff says emergency management has been spending
the day assesing the damage.
Trying to determine any damage that may be done to
the roads, or to housing, if there are people in need.
But for now.
the Sheriff's Department is urging everyone to report
damage as soon as they can.
It's a big county, and we have a lot of rain, and
I'm sure the water will be rising over the next couple
If there is some damage and water problems, we need
rain from yesterday's floods caused families in several
homes to be displaced over in the Goodman Court area
