LA CROSSE, WI -

Emergency officials are setting up shop in downtown La Crosse to make sure people celebrating Oktoberfest can get help easily and quickly.

This is the seventh year the 3rd Street Aid Station has been in business the opening weekend of Oktoberfest. It's located in the Subway parking lot on 3rd and Pearl Streets.

This year, they're extending their hours to run from 7:00 p.m. Friday until 4:00 a.m. Saturday and from 6:00 p.m. Saturday until 4:00 a.m. Sunday.

Safety officials say the station offers more than just first aid help. "It's for anything, whether it's for information, they've lost their friends and need to reconnect, it's a good ground zero, a good point to start those contacts, find people, get help, get directions, find a taxi, a bus ride, whatever their needs might be this is a place to start those searches," said Tri-State Ambulance Operations Supervisor Jay Clark.

You're also able to charge your cell phone at the aid station.

The aid station is a partnership and collaboration between businesses, government agencies, and all four universities.
