3 car crash on Highway 16 sends two to hospital

LA CROSSE, Wis. -

A 3 car crash sends two people to the hospital and ties up rush hour traffic on one of La Crosse's busiest roads.

It happened around 6:15 Thursday night on Highway 16 just north of the Gillette St. intersection.

Tri-State Ambulance tells us they took two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash blocked both northbound lanes of traffic on Highway 16 for more than an hour leaving dozens of cars stranded.

Other traffic was re-routed to the frontage road until the crash could be cleaned up.
