An elderly Minnesota farmer is recovering after getting
trapped in a corn bin.
It happened yesterday in the Lewiston area.
When emergency crews got there.
80-year old John Daley was buried in corn up to his
but still conscious and alert.
rescuers cut a hole in the bottom of the bin to get
truckloads of corn out of the way.
so they could free him.
They tied a rope around Daley to keep him from sinking
any deeper into the corn.
He was tall enough to be standing on the cement floor
but the corn surrounded him of course.
And we couldn't get him out right away because his
foot was stuck on a grate.
The Winona county sheriff says Daley's injuries appeared
to be non life-threatening.
