2 people injured in rollover crash, driver arrested
Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries during a rollover crash involving one vehicle early Thursday morning in the Township of Littlefalls.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 2:10 a.m. on State Highway 71 about one-tenth of a mile west of Daylight Road.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle, Charlie Richards, 23, of Sparta, drove through a curve too fast and lost control of his vehicle. It went into a ditch, rolled over, and came to a rest on its side.
Richards suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The passenger in the vehicle, Joseph Frisk, 22, of Sparta, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says Richards and Frisk were taken to Sparta Hospital by an unknown person before police were notified. Richards was arrested "as a result of this matter." Authorities say official charges will be determined by the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
