1929: Broadcast journalist and TV personality Barbara Walters is born in Boston. Walters co-hosted ABC's news magazine "20/20" for 25 years, was the first female co-anchor of network evening news, working with Harry Reasoner on the "ABC Evening News," and created the morning talk show "The View," which she still co-hosts part-time.
