1898: Actress Shirley Booth, who won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for 1952's "Come Back, Little Sheba," is born Marjory Ford in Brooklyn, N.Y. Booth, who was primarily a theater actress, was also known for playing the title role of the sitcom "Hazel," winning two Emmy Awards for the role.
