LA CROSSE, Wis. -- A dog at the humane society is looking for a family to care for her after caring for herself for a number of months.

Twelve-year-old Happy the dog was found living in an foreclosed home. She was getting some food and attention from some of the neighbors, but for the most part happy was fending for herself.

However, it could be a short road for Happy. During health checks at the humane society, they found a cancerous tumor.

Happy remains in good spirits and whether she is with your family for a few months or a year, the humane society's executive director believes she will change your life.

"I've learned that there's no guarantee with anything. You can adopt a young dog or a puppy and their life might be cut short by something, so there's no guarantee. But what we can guarantee is that for the time she'll be with you, I think that your life will be touched forever by her," says CRHS Executive Director Heather Schmid.
