Home sales are picking up and so is a new trend called "flash sales."
It's when a house goes on the market and sells within 24-hours. It's most common on the west coast, which is considered ground zero for the housing market heat up.
Housing experts say the trend hasn't made it to our area yet, but demand is up and the inventory is quickly going down.
"Be prepared to make an offer if you find the house that you want. We encourage them to make an offer at that point if it isn't something like, ‘Well, we'll think about it and get back to you next week’ necessarily," said la Crosse Area Realtors Association President Mike Pietrek.
A typical single-family home in the La Crosse area is sitting on the market for about four months.
