'All Fired Up' exhibit displays La Crosse Fire Department history
A new exhibit gives a glimpse into the past and a reminder of how far the La Crosse Fire Department has come.
The new exhibit called "All Fired Up" opened at the Swarthout Museum in La Crosse on Friday.
The display shows people many of the different pieces of equipment the fire department used in the past, like the old fire engines and clothing gear.
The director of the La Crosse County Historical Society Jeffrey Worrell said it's a way to honor those who have served the city."
This is our last exhibit here at the Swarthout and we wanted to do something really special. You look at who's serviced La Crosse and part of our mission is to preserve and present the history of La Crosse but who's really serviced La Crosse over their history? Policemen. Fire department folks. So we wanted to do this all fired up exhibit," said Warrell.
The museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
