1905: Musician, songwriter, and bandleader Bob Wills, considered by many as one of the founders of Western swing along with his band the Texas Playboys, is born James Robert Wills on a farm near Kosse, Texas. Some of Wills' biggest hits included "Cherokee Maiden," "Spanish Two Step," "Steel Guitar Rag," "San Antonio Rose" and "Faded Love."
