1932: Actress Elizabeth Taylor, best known for roles in movies such as "National Velvet," "A Place in the Sun," "Giant," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "Butterfield 8," "Cleopatra" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," is born in London, England. Taylor won Academy Awards for Best Actress for "Butterfield 8" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and also received three more Best Actress Oscar nominations over the course of her career.
