1918: Don Pardo, the radio and television announcer known as the voice of the long-running late night sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live," is born in Westfield, Mass. Pardo was also the announcer for early incarnations of such shows as "The Price Is Right," "Jeopardy!" and "NBC Nightly News."
