1923: Actor Conrad Bain, best known for playing "Mr. Drummond" on the 1980s sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes," is born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Bain studied at the Banff School of Fine Arts before serving in the Canadian Army during World War II. He got his start on Broadway in the 1950s and also starred as Dr. Arthur Harmon on the sitcom "Maude."
