1955: Actor and director Kevin Costner, best known for his roles in "The Untouchables," "Bull Durham," "Field of Dreams," "Dances with Wolves," "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" and "The Bodyguard," is born in Lynwood, Calif. Costner won two Academy Awards (Best Picture and Best Director) for "Dances with Wolves" and has also directed "The Postman" and "Open Range."
