1937: Actress Margaret O'Brien, best known for playing the character of Tootie opposite Judy Garland in 1944's "Meet Me in St. Louis," is born in San Diego, Calif. O'Brien, who won a Juvenile Oscar for her "Meet Me in St. Louis" role, also appeared as a child actress in 1940s movies such as "Journey for Margaret," "Jane Eyre," "The Canterville Ghost," "Our Vines Have Tender Grapes" and "The Secret Garden."
