1981: The prime-time soap opera "Falcon Crest" premieres on television. The show, which stars Jane Wynam and Robert Foxworth and revolves around the feuding factions of the wealthy Gioberti/Channing family in the Californian wine industry, would run for nine seasons before ending on May 17, 1990.
