1916: Francis "Chick" Hearn, who would go on to become the long-time play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Lakers, is born in Aurora, Ill. Hearn is remembered for inventing phrases such as "slam dunk," "air ball" and "no harm, no foul," and for broadcasting 3,338 consecutive Lakers games from 1965 to 2001.
