2003: Record producer Phil Spector is charged in the Feb. 3, 2003, shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson at his mansion in Alhambra, Calif. Spector pleads innocent and would remain free on $1 million bail while awaiting trial. Spector's first trial would end in a mistrial because of a hung jury in September 2007, but he would be found guilty in 2009 and sentenced to 19 years to life in prison.
