America's biggest donors of 2012
The Chronicle of Philanthropy has released its annual list of America's biggest donors of 2012. Take a look at the 15 most generous donors.
9. Sheldon and Miriam Adelson. Donations: $143 million. Sheldon Adelson is chairman of the Las Vegas Sands corporation and is a hotel developer, most notably of the Venetian Las Vegas. Miriam Adelson is a physician specializing in drug abuse treatment. Most of their donations went to the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Medical Research Foundation and the Adelson Family Fountation.
