Much colder air is pouring into Wisconsin behind a departing storm system and cold front. The overnight will be partly cloudy and very cold. Temperatures will fall to the single digits with wind chills ranging from 0 to -10 by daybreak. Friday and Saturday will be mainly quiet with partly sunny skies on Friday and mostly sunny skies on Saturday. Highs will only reach the middle teens. Saturday morning will be even colder, with lows around zero, and wind chills as cold as -15.
A winter storm will move into Wisconsin on Sunday. Skies will become mostly cloudy with light snow developing in the afternoon and continuing through Monday morning. Snow amounts will be in the 2-5" range from Sunday afternoon into early Monday morning. Highs on Sunday will be in the lower 20s.
The coldest air of the season will arrive after the storm passes, with temperatures falling from the upper teens on Monday through the teens during the day. By Tuesday morning, low temperatures will be near -10, but wind chills could fall to as low as -30. Tuesday will be partly sunny with some flurries and highs only reaching the single digits. Wednesday will remain bitterly cold with temperatures starting around -10 degrees and ending the day around 10 above zero. Wind chills will be as cold as -35 Wednesday morning.
On Thursday, temperatures will remain very cold, and skies will be partly sunny. High temperatures will be in the lower teens. Skies will become cloudy Thursday night as light snow develops. This should keep low temperatures above zero for Friday morning.
