For the third consecutive year, Washington, D.C., is ranked as the most literate city in the United States, according to the study by Dr. John W. Miller of Central Connecticut State University. It ranks literacy in the largest cities (population 250,000 or more) in the U.S., focusing on newspaper circulation, number of bookstores, library resources, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment, and Internet resources.
