Japanese delegation visits Gundersen Health System
Some visitors traveled about 8,000 miles to La Crosse to see what a local medical system has to offer
A Japanese delegation of health and government officials toured Gundersen Health System Wednesday. They come from a hospital near where the tsunami hit a couple of years ago.
They're trying to expand their facility and find ways to become more energy efficient in the meantime. "They're looking for some of the best places in the world to go and visit as they consider this new facility and this topic of energy was a key one for them and Gundersen was selected as a place they wanted to visit for that purpose," said the Executive Director of Gundersen Envision.
As Gundersen is working to become energy independent by next year, officials showed off their heat recovery and geothermal system.
They also talked about their biomass, wind, and solar energy products.
