Local colleges taking precautions against the flu
Local universities are trying to spread extra education with the flu outbreak this season.
Viterbo University is sending flu safety information through email and other means to all students. It includes things to watch for and what to do if they get sick.
One of those suggestions is to stay home and avoid high traffic areas. "If a student that's living on campus is ill, we don't want them in large places that people gather, such as the cafeteria, so we will arrange for a sick tray so that they can have their food brought to their room," said Viterbo's Director of Health Services Sue Danielson.
UW-La Crosse also offers sick trays for their on-campus students.
Viterbo's Health Services Center can also send medicine home with a roommate.
