A former U.S. Army soldier who served at Fort McCoy will be the first military veteran to compete on Season 12 of the television show, "Project Runway."
Miranda Levy, 29, grew up in Wilton, Wisconsin, and is currently a fashion designer in Milwaukee. This summer, Levy will compete on the TV show against 15 other designers for a prize package worth more than a half million dollars.
Levy spent eight years in the U.S. Army as mechanic. After active duty, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she earned her BFA in Photography and Fibers.
Levy’s award-winning designs were shown on the cover of "M Magazine" and "Info Magazine," among others. She been the curator for Tenth Street Gallery, an adjunct professor at The Art Institute of Milwaukee, and color specialist for Kohl's Department Stores.
Timothy Westbrook, 24, of Milwaukee, will also be competing on the show.
Season 12 of Project Runway premieres Thursday, July 18 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
