IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -

The University of Iowa is hosting its annual documentary film festival.

The 11th annual Iowa City International Documentary Film Festival will present and explore forms of film and video from around the world. It will feature competitive shows, juror shows and traveling documentary work.

The school's Department of Cinema and Comparative Literature is hosting the three-day festival, which begins Thursday at Public Space One, an a gallery in Iowa City. It concludes with award announcements on Saturday.

The festival is free and open to the public.
