StormTeam 8 Forecast:  High 54°/ Low 46°... Clouds gradually thicken today. Slight chance of showers this afternoon, especially south & west. Cloudy & breezy tonight with periods of rain. Isolated thunder possible, especially south.

We saw plenty of sunshine on Monday, but temps were cooler than the weekend with highs in the mid-upper 50s. The La Crosse airport briefly nudged the 60º mark.

A storm system approaches from the west today, so expect skies to become mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain showers arrives this afternoon, especially south & west. Highs today will be in the low-mid 50s. E/SE winds 5-15 mph.

Rain becomes likely tonight as low pressure tracks in to western Iowa. There could even be some isolated thunder, especially in southern parts of the viewing area. It will also turn breezy with E/SE winds 10-20 mph and gusts of 25-30 mph possible in some areas.

Rain remains likely Wednesday, especially through about midday. This system could produce some fairly impressive rainfall. Many forecast models are indicating 1.00" to 2.00"+ will be possible in many areas through Wednesday evening. I'm not expecting any flooding concerns as it's been pretty dry so far this October. However, with so many leaves on the ground... storm drains could get clogged and possibly lead to some street flooding in spots. The clouds and rain will keep highs Wednesday in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Looking Ahead... Thursday looks dry and seasonable with highs in the mid 50s. Temps warm Friday with highs in the low-mid 60s as an area of low pressure races by to the north. It now looks like it will pass by far enough north that we will stay dry, but a bit breezy.

Another low will race across the region on Saturday and could cause a few isolated showers, especially north of I-90. It will remain mild on Saturday with highs in the low 60s, then cool back into the mid-upper 50s Sunday. Sunday will be dry though with partly cloudy skies.

The latest forecast model data has me adding a small chance (20%) of showers for Halloween Monday, but it still looks fairly mild with highs in the low 60s. Could be a bit breezy too.

Another slight chance of rain looks to arrive around the middle of next week with highs in the upper 50s.

Have a great Tuesday! -Bill Graul
