A ridge of high pressure will keep things clear and quiet across the region tonight. Meanwhile, an area of low pressure sitting over the Tennessee Valley will get a bump northward for Friday night into Saturday. This could result in a few light rain showers or sprinkles during that time.
In the meantime, if you're heading to the Torchlight Parade on the north side of La Crosse this evening, conditions will be clear and seasonably cool. Temperatures will drop into the middle 60s for the parade. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s.
Looking Ahead... As that low to our south slowly moves northward it will spread clouds across the region Friday. We could even see a stray sprinkle or light shower late in the day into Friday night. Look for highs in the middle and upper 60s Friday afternoon.
More clouds are expected with this backwards moving system Saturday. The rain chances will increase a little, but it definitely will not be a washout of a day. In fact, these should be very light showers or sprinkles. The latest data has the better chances of rain staying just to the east of La Crosse and it may be possible that we won't see any rain in La Crosse. Stay tuned! Highs Saturday will be seasonably cool, hanging in the mid 60s.
The second part of the weekend and early next week are looking great! After some morning clouds Sunday, expect some afternoon sunshine with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Our next chance of rain returns by the middle of next week.
Have a great night and Happy Oktoberfest! -Cory Malles
